Richmond Controls lighting units are designed to be installed in parallel with the motor so that no resistors or artificial loads are required. The units listed below are for HO scale models and represent the some of the more common applications. If you don't see the application you need contact us and we can get the proper one. N and Large Scale applications should contact us with the model that it will be installed in and the desired features. There are several different boards for the various N-scale models. Because of the vast variety of N-scale applications all N-scale light kits will be custom ordered. All units listed below include 1.5 volt, 15 mA incandescent light bulbs. DCC applications require an extra resistor that is supplied at no extra charge. Please specify if DCC or not.

The LED equipped beacon kits include a yellow LED, bulb equipped kits include a 1.5 volt 15 mA incandescent light bulb. The bulb version of the Stratolight beacon was developed for easier installation in painted brass models. The bulb will typically fit the OMI Stratolight housing without drilling out anything but the plastic "cap". The LED will require drilling of the housing. |

The Stratolight beacon simulates the Prime Stratolight beacon used on Santa Fe, Missouri Pacific, Milwaukee, Southern Pacific, Montana Raillink, and post 1988 Burlington Northern Diesels. |

The Western Cullen beacon simulates the beacon used on Union Pacific, Chicago and Northwestern, pre 1988 Burlington Northern, and some Rio Grande diesels. In bulb format it works for the single strobe used on MKT diesels. |

The under car kits are designed to fit under a flat or other similar car so that it can be run as an empty. The regular FREDs are designed to fit inside the car body. |
